CAY HILL: On Saturday, October 26th, 2019, the St. Maarten Medical Center hosted their annual clinical breast screenings in collaboration with the Positive and the Elektalytes foundations. The well-attended event saw a total of 111 women being screened by Doctors of SMMC assisted by Student Doctors from the American University of the Caribbean Medical School (AUC).
The event featured lectures by Radiologist, Dr. Sander Bodewitz who demonstrated a biopsy using fruit and Chemo-therapy Nurse Jasmien Cijntje who spoke to attendees about life before, during, and after cancer diagnosis. The Positive and Elektralytes Foundations were also on hand providing
