Pond Island:--- Organizers and volunteers of the annual TelCell Breakthrough Talent Search will be auditioning some of the island’s brightest acts Saturday in a hunt for finalists for St. Maarten’s Premier youth talent event later in the year.

Saturday August 13th is the date when a panel of experienced judges will be reviewing a host of brand new performances at the Cultural Center, Backstreet, starting at 8:00 am in the morning.

The auditions are being organized by TelCell in collaboration with Xtratight Entertainment.

TelCell Co-ordinator, Angel Richardson, said up until Friday, she was expecting up to 100 persons aged between 14 years and 22 years, to step on the stage to strut their stuff in front of the judging panel.

“We have some talents already booked, but one feature of the auditioning process is that young performers can just walk in off the street and make their pitch with a song, a dance, playing an instrument, telling a joke, rapping, beat-boxing, etc.,” said Angel.

She said the auditions themselves are closed to the general public to respect the privacy of those taking part, however, the entire event will be filmed and once edited will be shown to the general public at a later date.
