PHILIPSBURG:— The work carried out by the Collectivity and its provider Sogetras on the Sandy Ground Bridge has been done without major difficulties.
Everything has been done to activate the site and cause as little inconvenience as possible to users, so that the bridge will be able to reopen to road traffic as of Sunday, 10 days ahead of the forecast work schedule.
By adapting the execution procedures, the company is able to complete the finishing and tuning work without impacting daytime traffic.
Accordingly, the bridge will be reopened to road traffic this Sunday, September 05 at 8 pm.
President Daniel Gibbs salutes the teams in charge of the construction site for their involvement in the service of users.
However, it should be noted that in order to make the installation settings, one-time road traffic closure sessions will be scheduled before 30 September. They will take place at night between 21 and 5 for a period not exceeding 30 minutes.
The forecast date for opening the bridge to maritime traffic is Thursday, September 30, 2021.
