PHILIPSBURG:--- The Department of Infrastructure Management is hereby informing all boat salvaging companies and all Marinas that the salvaging of boats must be properly coordinated with the Ministry of VROMI and TEATT.
Proper locations will be identified for the salvaged boats that cannot be placed in an existing boatyard.
Prior to salvaging any boat, the Ministry wants to ensure that all proper precautions are taken to prevent any spillage of oils and fuel into the lagoon. An initial meeting was already held and a report of the various boat wrecks is being awaited to ensure all works are carried out in compliance with the law. At present, the government hasn’t granted any permission to salvage any boats in the lagoon.
