PHILIPSBURG:— In the same week its sister property Flamingo Beach Resort passed for its own Gold SafeSeal, Royal Palm Beach Resort has collected the same emblem after passing the Gold SafeSeal exam. SafeSeal is the immediately recognizable emblem for companies that are verified to adhere to strict cleanliness and hygiene guidelines to counter the COVID-19 pandemic.

Royal Palm Beach Resort features 141 oceanfront accommodations beautifully situated on Simpson Bay. The resort recently reopened with new pool amenities and common areas, as well as fully refurbished guest suites with new flooring, appliances, bedding and furnishings in all units.

As is the case with its sister resort, various adaptations have been made to provide guests with a safe vacation environment. As part of the company’s enhanced Diamond Standard of Clean protocols, dedicated team members are tasked with frequently cleaning high-touch surfaces, such as check-in areas, pool chairs, door handles, and common area furnishings, using EPA-recommended disinfectants. Social distancing requirements and signage guiding this process are ubiquitous, and hand sanitizers are readily available throughout the resorts.

Given the strict health and safety measures put in place for the St. Maarten hospitality industry, the staff at Royal Palm Beach Resort has gone through rigorous training to ensure they are closely adhering to all Standard of Clean and local safety protocols.

“St. Maarten is a beloved vacation destination for our Diamond members, and we are excited to be able to welcome them back to enjoy this island paradise after extensive renovations at Royal Palm Beach Resort and Flamingo Beach Resort,” said Keith Bielski, Director of Hotel Marketing & Distribution for Diamond Resorts®.

SafeSeal standards have been devised by medical and occupational safety professionals; the methods and practices have been used to grant acknowledgment of best COVID-19 prevention practices to 1,700 companies in the Caribbean. For St. Maarten, the checklists per sector have been validated to befit, among others, the guidelines on stmaartengov.org.

By highlighting best-practice companies and supporting organizations in the St. Maarten Tourism Bureau, the St. Maarten Hospitality & Trade Association, and occupational health company Medwork wants to spread the word that St. Maarten is making its best effort to be a safe destination.
