More than 70 entrepreneurs and SME’s gain insights from experts on affordable tools to grow in 2018

Great Bay:--- On Wednesday, March 28, 2018, more than 70 entrepreneurs and innovators came together to learn about the affordable tools and technology to grow their business in 2018. This was the first PWR Hour for 2018. Hosted by Produce Wealth Revolution Agency (also referred to as ‘The PWR Agency’), St. Maarten’s first incubator, the PWR Hour was held in collaboration with United Telecommunication Services (UTS) at the UTS store in Philipsburg.
UTS showcased the latest technology they have available to assist entrepreneurs and small medium enterprises to grow their business. These included a security system for automobiles, mi-fi, and special bundles. UTS also provided specials solely for those present and give away two (2) virtual reality gear (VRG) to winners of the trivia questions. Attendees span a variety of services from graphic designers to food specialists to lawyers.
Marvio Cooks, a techpreneur and civil servant, gave the keynote and highlighted local companies which are embracing technology while painting a picture of what St. Maarten that is innovative in culture would look like. He stressed the importance of understanding the times we are in and to help build a more resilient economy through technology.
Since passing of hurricane, there is an estimated 25% increase in the starting of businesses. This is can be attributed to the lack of employment caused by the devastating effects of the hurricane. For this reason, The PWR Agency was started to help support businesses in both the start-up and growth phases. In addition to events and services, The PWR Agency also provides coworking space for those who are starting or have been misplaced.
Events like PWR Tech Hour are designed to connect entrepreneurs to be able to find possible clients and/or strategic partners while providing them with information that can transform their business in a fun and dynamic way. Organizers would like to thank UTS, Be Your Own Brand, and The Johnny Caker for making the evening such a success.
