PHILIPSBURG:—  Islandpreneur Live 2021 is the second annual signature virtual experience hosted by Produce Wealth Revolution (PWR) Agency. On June 3rd – 4th, more than 15 global experts will share their expertise with island-based entrepreneurs to support them in building smart, digital, and global businesses. Sessions include workshops, masterclasses, roundtables, and even a live podcast recording with venture-capitalist turned youtuber with almost 3 million subscribers, Evan Carmichael. Mr. Carmichael has raised $500k to $15m in funding for different businesses. Now he empowers entrepreneurs to create movements that make a difference and has written four (4) best-selling books, while being featured by Forbes.

Islandpreneur Live is designed to provide the best and most actionable insights to island-based entrepreneurs so they can accelerate growth and build resilient businesses. Experts will be covering topics such as innovation, export, branding, monetization, finance, resilience, strategy, and networking. Some of the organizations being represented are Dutch Caribbean Securities Exchange (DCSX), Centrale Bank van Curacao en Sint Maarten (CBCS), Altus Branding N.V., Island Innovation, Global Entrepreneurship Network, The Rep Network, Tech Beach, Facebook, and Microsoft.

One of the key global experts includes the daughter of the soil and data science manager of Facebook, Yinka Badejo. Ms. Badejo is a data analyst with an undergraduate degree in mathematics and graduate degrees in operational research and systems engineering and has worked in aviation, railway, and most recently the Director of Analytics of Ernst & Young. Ms. Badejo is conducting a workshop on innovation doing a deep dive on how to use purpose as a strategy to innovate.

Islandpreneur Live includes a workshop by CBCS on Financial Resilience. This workshop will look at ways to recover quickly financially from shock while highlighting some of the trends that will support financial resilience on the islands. CBCS will also contribute to the roundtable, “Is the Future of Islands Digital?” where different perspectives will be shared on the digital transformation of islands how it will impact the quality of life.

The latest addition to the speaker circuit is Small Medium Business (SMB) Lead at Microsoft Caribbean, Yamile Bustamante Allen. Ms. Allen will give a keynote on Digital Entrepreneurship and what that means for ‘islandpreneurs’ in the region. Microsoft is committed to supporting economic resilience by supporting digital native businesses.

There will be a virtual awards ceremony, Islandpreneur Awards followed directly with a roundtable discussion with the awardees. These awards recognize contributors to islandpreneurship from around the world. Awardees include the queen of podcast, Heneka Watkis-Porter based on Jamaica, and Jeff Hoffman, Chairman of Global Entrepreneurship Network, and co-founder of Priceline.com.

 This virtual experience is geared to ensure island-based entrepreneurs have the right insights to accelerate growth and expand their network.
