SIMPSON BAY:--- Island 92 Radio today announced the addition of a new weekly radio program called “Nothing But Old 45’s” which will run every Sunday from 11 AM to 12 Noon, with an encore broadcast on Thursday evenings at 7 PM. The new program is hosted by veteran on-air personality Larry Kratka and features classic hits from the late 1950's, 60's, 70's and early 80's. This music, originally issued on actual 45 rpm vinyl discs as “singles”, has been lovingly collected and curated by host Larry Kratka who plays the vinyl on the show while interjecting interesting updates on the artists, and music trivia.
Jeffrey “Dr. SOC” Sochrin, Managing Director of Island 92 Radio stated, “Island 92 is all about the music, and we are extremely excited to add Nothing But Old 45’s to our weekly roster of great programming. The show harkens back to the days of the ‘45’, reminding us of juke boxes, drive in movies, analog vinyl and the birth of classic rock as we know it today. Our listeners, both young and old truly enjoy a wide range of music, and Nothing But Old 45’s brings a fresh perspective to the great classics we have literally grown to love.”
Larry Kratka, host of Nothing But Old 45’s said, “It is absolutely fantastic to be able to bring Nothing But Old 45’s to Island 92 Radio and the Northeast Caribbean. We are now expanding our footprint internationally, exposing new listeners and classic rock fans to our brand of music, that of the 45.
