PHILIPSBURG:--- Ruby Labega, winners of the 1st Interscholastic Basketball Championship will be traveling today, Thursday March 10th to Curacao to represent St. Maarten in the Inter Insulair Competition. The Inter Insulair competition is a yearly school competition held in the Dutch Caribbean and St. Maarten has been invited to take part in this year's competition. The travelling delegation will be six students from Ruby Labega Primary School and will be supported by four students from the Sub-Champions St. Joseph School. They will be coached by Robert Pantophlet and Minerva-Marlin Cooper. Also travelling are representatives of the sports department and Honorable Minister of Education, Culture, Youth & Sports Ms. Silveria Jacobs. The students will return on Sunday March 13th, looking to be victorious. Heavenly Water has generously sponsored travel shirts, uniforms and sport bottles to stay hydrated during games. The Walichi Basketball Association will like to wish the delegation a safe, fun and successful trip and a huge thanks to Heavenly Water for stepping up in supporting the youth of St. Maarten.
