~ Wants the court to annul the resolution to appoint a statutory director.~

PHILIPSBURG:— The four members of the Supervisory Board of Directors (SBOD) of NV GEBE have filed a court injunction against the shareholder of the government-owned company, namely the Minister of VROMI Egbert Jurendy Doran. The hearing is scheduled for Friday afternoon which will coincide with the scheduled hearing of the SBOD with the shareholder.
SMN News learned that the legal representative of the SBOD filed the injunction in the hope of getting the court to annul the resolution to appoint the statutory director Dr. Sharine Daniel. The SBOD in a letter to the shareholder on Monday morning asked that the resolution be annulled citing that it is flawed. The SBOD also wanted the government to guarantee that the four remaining members of the SBOD will not be fired.
The Temporary Manager of NV GEBE along with the four members of the SBOD fired Daniel on July 21st, 2021 alleging that her diplomas are fake. Since then, the Department of Examinations (ECYS) has verified all four of Daniel’s diplomas and declared them to be valid and there is no reason to doubt the validity of the diplomas.
The Shareholder has issued a resolution to appoint Daniel as the company’s statutory director, the shareholder also requested the SBOD to inform them on a weekly basis on the process, only on August 24th, 2021 government received a response telling them that they have 24 hours to annul the resolution. Now the SBOD and its legal advisor have decided to involve the court to get the resolution annulled.
