PHILIPSBURG:— In the wake of what would have been the 52nd annual carnival celebration on Sint Maarten, Ebony Empress is releasing new music for sentimental revelers to enjoy.
Ebony Empress is a St. Maarten resident Soca/Bouyon artist from Dominica that is creative waves in the Caribbean music circle despite the pandemic, which has crippled the entertainment industry.
“Creating new music has its’ challenges during these times as there are a lot of social and psychological issues arising in our communities, with many people are out of work and we are all just striving to survive. I want to release music to uplift spirits and create moments where we can forget about their problems. After all we are still here and things will get better sooner than later. While every country has its own language, music is my language. It’s the only way to express myself. It’s a passion running through my veins that when it comes to music I can’t be contained. Music brings people today. Music is so powerful.” says Ebony Empress.
The artist’s new single entitled; “Woule” on the 2021 Rocket Riddim is building momentum on social media platforms. The single was scheduled to be released last year however due to the global lockdown the project was held back. The Rocket Riddim project was orchestrated by Ecletikmusic – Unity Concept a production company based in Martinique directed by Fabrice Raquil. The project is a Caribbean-wide initiative to bring various artists from different backgrounds together. Also featured on the Riddim is Party Shot by Fadda Fox featuring DeejBlaze, On di Road by Ezra D Funmachine, Big bad, and Bold by Black Starr, and Woye by Keytinna.
