PHILIPSBURG:--- Land and freshwater mollusks were surveyed over the course of three visits in 2015, 2020 and 2021 on the Dutch and French site of St. Martin. Snails are important for healthy soil and are an important food source for many species. Alarmingly, it has become clear that the number of land snail species are declining. In fact, it is suspected that a number of species will disappear completely if no action is taken soon.
