PHILIPSBURG:--- Owner of the Juan Bar, J.L. (53), was convicted again on Wednesday, April 3, 2019, for operating an illegal brothel in Cay Bay. In agreement with the demand of the Public Prosecutor, the judge sentenced J.L. to 36 months' imprisonment unconditional. J.L. will also execute the 12-month suspended sentence from the previous conviction.
J.L. was sentenced in April 2018 to 12 months conditional imprisonment and 2 years' probation for operating the same illegal brothel. J.L was released early, because of insufficient detention capacity.
