PHILIPSBURG:— The Philipsburg Jubilee Library (PJL) in close cooperation with the American University of the Caribbean (AUC) since 2015 is hosting once again their joint PJL/AUC Educational and Health Program:” BODY SMAART” for children ages 5 -12, at the parking lot area of the former library’s location on Saturday, July 24, 2021, from 10.30 am to 12.00 pm.
Body SMAART is an initiative of the AUC Community Action Day Campaign developed by the AUC students, which provides interactive sessions on health and the anatomy of the human body. Since 2015, AUC students have provided interactive sessions; which is very popular among the young library users.
This year the Community Action Day – BODY SMAART – is part of the 2021 theme Social and Personal Development Practices “Recreation Activities for July”.
The aim this year of this fun-filled health program is to engage 100 youngsters or more. The AUC students developed lesson plans consist of exercise and interactive components which demonstrate the health of one’s lungs and the anatomy of the heart. These medically trained students are highly equipped to deal with any emergency that might occur.
Co-sponsors this year are The American University of the Caribbean, CC1 Sint Maarten, Hygienix N.V., and the Philipsburg Jubilee Library.
