PHILIPSBURG:--- Representatives from Accessible Ventures Transportation of St. Maarten (AVTS) attended the 28th Annual FCCA Cruise Conference in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. The conference took place last week, and included, among many others, 60 top global cruise executives. As delegates, AVTS showcased the products and services available for the cruise industry on St. Maarten, specifically for tourists with disabilities visiting the island via cruises.

AVTS has been providing special-needs, non-emergency, medical transportation services on the island since February 2005. In addition to providing special needs support for local residents, a niche market for accessible tourism evolved. This niche was discovered ...
