SINT MAARTEN (GREAT BAY) - As Go LOCAL XL returns later this week for its seventh edition, Xtratight is paying tribute to the organizations whose continued partnership has helped establish the event as one of St. Maarten's premier showcases for local enterprise. The four-day event, scheduled for Thursday, July 23, through Sunday, July 26, will take place on the Philipsburg Boardwalk from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. each evening. What began as an initiative to encourage residents to support local businesses has evolved into a cornerstone event that connects entrepreneurs with consumers while highlighting the diversity and resilience of St. Maarten's business community. This year's edition is supported by GEBE N.V., Port St. Maarten, Windward Islands Bank (WIB), Telem, the St. Maarten Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Kadaster St. Maarten, Aleeze, Genesis Music Group and Quality Sweepers whose contributions reflect a broader commitment to community development and economic growth.
Rather than serving solely as event sponsors, the partners have invested in a platform designed to strengthen local commerce, expand opportunities for entrepreneurs and encourage collaboration across the public and private sectors. "Go LOCAL XL has always been rooted in collaboration," said Bertaux Fleming, Managing Director of Xtratight Entertainment. "The continued support of our partners demonstrates a collective commitment to building a stronger local economy. Their investment extends beyond this event. They are helping create opportunities for entrepreneurs, supporting innovation and reinforcing the importance of doing business locally.” More than 50 local businesses are expected to participate in this year's event, representing industries including retail, professional services, food and beverage, health and wellness, fashion, technology and the creative sector. Visitors can also enjoy a family-friendly experience with food offerings from Domino's Pizza, interactive gaming by Video Cove SXM, and a dedicated arcade designed for children. Entertainment throughout the four evenings will be hosted by Rummer and Nolrez, with a programme showcasing local music, culture and performing arts. Opening night on Thursday will feature performances by Sweet Pan, DJ Chubs and Shawn Wilkinson. Friday's programme will pay tribute to the late Claude with an evening dedicated to culture, music, dance and storytelling, culminating in a fireworks display. The cultural celebration will also feature performances by Cecil on Sax, DJ Kidd and Yemaya. Entertainment will continue on Saturday with appearances by DJ Kidd, Jeremyand MagicX, before the festival concludes on Sunday with performances by Sweet Pan, DJ Ez Ric and Chewawah. As preparations enter their final stages, Xtratight expressed its appreciation to every sponsor, partner, vendor and volunteer who has contributed to this year's edition. "The success of Go LOCAL XL is a reflection of what can be achieved when businesses and institutions invest in their community," Fleming said. "We are grateful to every organization that has chosen to stand with us in supporting local entrepreneurs and creating opportunities for businesses to grow. Their partnership continues to shape the future of this event and the communities it serves."
