SINT MAARTEN (POND ISLAND) - The University of St. Martin (USM) invites the public to attend Lit Night @ USM on Thursday, September 10, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the USM campus.

The event will provide an open-mic platform for students, faculty, staff, and members of the public to share poetry, floetry, spoken word, short stories and other forms of creative expression.

Whether you are an experienced performer, sharing your work for the first time or simply attending to support local talent, Lit Night promises to be an evening of creativity, connection, and community.

As the event takes place on World Suicide Prevention Day, attendees are also encouraged to wear yellow as a show of hope, support, and solidarity. Wearing yellow is not mandatory, and everyone is welcome to attend.

USM hopes the evening will also serve as a reminder of the importance of checking in on others and taking the time to have meaningful conversations. Sometimes, a simple message or conversation can remind someone that they are not alone.

Admission is free. Come prepared to share your voice, enjoy the work of others, and connect with the community through the arts.
