SINT MAARTEN (PHILIPSBURG) - The crew of Teen Times will once again host the Youth Extravaganza for Carnival, a night that caters to teenagers and features young performers in almost every category of the performing arts.
Teen Times and the St. Maarten Carnival Development Foundation (SCDF) have enjoyed a long relationship, with all proceeds going to the SCDF to support youth initiatives in Carnival. The Teen Timers volunteer their time to organizing the entire event.
This year Youth Extravaganza 2023 will feature several acts in rapping, singing, dancing and more. It will also be headlined by some of the island best known young stars including the Alpha Lee, Chanti, ZTB Band, Skillful Band, and Deja among others.
The host of the Youth Extravaganza, Rumari “Rumer” Rogers, is expected to bring his usual energy to the stage and perhaps perform a song or two with some other surprises. Teen Times has also incorporated a TikTok dance-off competition which will see dancers from the crowd performing popular TikTok dancers for a chance to win $500.
“If you know Teen Times you know we love hosting Youth Extravaganza and giving our young people a night for themselves during Carnival. We have very talented young people with limited opportunities to display their talents for the public. Youth Extravaganza will be fun and we expect the youth to support the youth as they have always done,” Coordinator of Teen Times Roosje Rommy-Richardson said.
The Youth Extravaganza for Carnival 2023 will be held on April 24 in Carnival Village and will begin at 8:00pm. Entrance is just $10.
