SINT MAARTEN (GREAT BAY) - At approximately 10:15 a.m. today, October 3, 2026, the Police Dispatch Center was notified of a fire at a business establishment located on E. Camille Richardson.

The Fire Department was immediately notified and dispatched to the location. Upon arrival, firefighters encountered heavy smoke emanating from the building. Firefighters quickly sprang into action and successfully contained the blaze, preventing the fire from spreading and causing further damage.

Two individuals were treated at the scene by ambulance personnel for smoke inhalation. Their injuries were reported to be non-life-threatening, and they received the necessary medical attention.

The cause of the fire is currently unknown and remains under investigation by the Fire Department.

The KPSM commends the swift response, professionalism, and coordinated efforts of all emergency responders involved in addressing the incident and ensuring the safety of those at the scene.
