SINT MAARTEN (GREAT BAY) - The Ministry of General Affairs announces that the Reception Desk of the Public Service Center (PSC), located at the Government Administration Building on Soualiga Road, has restored its regular operating hours effective Monday, November 2, 2026.

The restored schedule includes afternoon service on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, providing residents and businesses with greater flexibility to access assistance. The Reception Desk also remains open during the lunch break on these days.

Prime Minister Dr. Luc F.E. Mercelina welcomed the restoration, emphasizing the importance of public services that accommodate the needs of the community.

“For some time, members of the public have been unable to access the Reception Desk’s services during the afternoon. Restoring these hours, with service continuing through the lunch break, gives residents and businesses greater flexibility to visit government around their work, family and other responsibilities. Accessible public service must take into account the daily realities of our people. I thank the public for their patience and our staff for their continued commitment,” Prime Minister Dr. Mercelina stated.

The Reception Desk’s regular operating hours are as follows:

General Inquiries

- Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday: 8:00 a.m. to 4:45 p.m.

- Wednesday: 8:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Intake of Documents and Document Registration Updates

- Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday: 8:15 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

- Wednesday: 8:15 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Fabiana Arnell, Head of the Public Service Center, highlighted the practical benefits of the return to afternoon service.

“Following an ad hoc staffing disruption, we are pleased to once again welcome the public during the afternoon on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. The Reception Desk remains open during the lunch break on these days, allowing persons to visit at a time that may be more convenient for them. General inquiries are available until 4:45 p.m., while document intake and document registration updates are available until 3:30 p.m. We recognize that the adjusted hours created challenges for some visitors, and we sincerely appreciate their patience and understanding throughout that period,” Arnell said.

Members of the public are encouraged to take note of the different closing times when planning their visits. Document intake and document registration updates conclude earlier than general inquiries on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. Wednesday services remain available until 12:30 p.m.

The Ministry of General Affairs and the Public Service Center thank the public for their cooperation during the past months while the adjusted schedule was in effect.
