SINT MAARTEN (GREAT BAY) – Member of Parliament (MP) Sjamira Roseburg released her Justice Day message released on Friday, July 17, 2026. “On this Justice Day, I extend my heartfelt appreciation and best wishes to everyone who forms part of our justice chain.
“To our police officers, prosecutors, judges, attorneys, prison and probation officers, victim support workers, court staff, customs and immigration officers, and every professional who works each day to uphold justice and the rule of law, thank you for your dedication and service.
“Today is also for those who rely on the justice system. I think of victims seeking healing, families searching for answers, witnesses who find the courage to speak, and individuals working to rebuild their lives.
“Justice belongs to all of us because, at some point in life, we all hope to be treated fairly, heard, and protected. As both a Member of Parliament and an attorney, justice has always held a special place in my heart.
“To me, justice is about more than laws and courtrooms. It is about people, dignity, fairness, and ensuring that our institutions continue to earn the trust of the community they serve.
“Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. once said, “The arc of the moral universe is long, but it bends toward justice.” Those words remind us that justice is built every day through integrity, compassion, and the commitment to do what is right.
“On this Justice Day, let us continue working together to strengthen a justice system that protects, supports, and serves everyone. Whether we work within the justice chain or rely on it, we each have a role to play in building a safer, fairer, and more compassionate Sint Maarten.
“I wish everyone a meaningful and blessed Justice Day,” Member of Parliament Sjamira D.M. Roseburg said on Friday.
