SINT MAARTEN (DUTCH QUARTER) - The Police Force of Sint Maarten (KPSM) is investigating an incident that occurred in the Dutch Quarter area on Monday, August 10, 2026.
Shortly after 7:00 p.m., the Central Police Dispatch received several calls reporting an ongoing altercation between a male and a female.
Upon arrival at the location, officers encountered a male who had sustained an injury to his upper body. Preliminary information indicates that the injury was inflicted with a pair of scissors during an altercation between the two individuals.
Following a brief investigation, two persons were arrested in connection with the incident on suspicion of serious ill-treatment. Both suspects were transported to the Police Station in Philipsburg.
After receiving medical attention from ambulance personnel, both suspects were subsequently incarcerated pending further investigation.
The investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident remains ongoing.
