“Our seniors are more than a generation that came before us. They are part of the foundation upon which we stand today. They worked, sacrificed, raised families, built communities and helped shape the Sint Maarten that we inherited. As we move forward, we must never become too busy to honor them, listen to them and care for them.”

“To Mrs. Serrant’s family, I also say thank you. Thank you for surrounding her with love and for being there for her. The way we care for our seniors says something important about who we are as a people. Growing older should never mean becoming forgotten.”

“Mrs. Serrant has witnessed a Sint Maarten that many of us know only through stories. A century of life deserves more than congratulations; it deserves our respect.”

“Happy 100th birthday, Mrs. Dorothy Serrant. May God continue to bless you and your family. Thank you for the life you have lived, the contribution you have made and the generations whose lives have been touched because you were here. Today, we celebrate you.”
