SINT MAARTEN (GREAT BAY) - Angelique Romou & A BETTA PLACE foundation, Congratulates all teachers, as St. Maarten & the World continues celebrating World Teachers’ Month, and as Loving Our Teachers Out Loud celebrates its fifth anniversary Romou expresses her gratitude to Simpson Bay Resort, Marina & Spa for extending its special Teacher Appreciation midterm offer through to October 16, 2026.
The extension ensures that teachers who may not yet have received their Loving Our Teachers Out Loud coupon sheets will still have an opportunity to enjoy the resort’s special Teacher Appreciation offer.
Simpson Bay Resort has also graciously agreed to honor the initiative even for teachers who do not have their physical coupon in hand. Teachers simply need to identify themselves as educators, provide proof that they are currently teaching, and indicate the school at which they are employed.
Romou said she is particularly grateful for this gesture because it ensures that teachers who experienced delays in receiving their coupon sheets are not excluded from an opportunity specifically intended to provide them with some well-deserved R & R during the midterm break.
“This is what Loving Our Teachers Out Loud is about, making our teachers feel seen, valued and appreciated,” Romou stated. “I am extremely grateful to Simpson Bay Resort, Marina & Spa for their understanding and for offering to extend their offer so that our teachers can still benefit. It is a beautiful example of a business going the extra mile to show our educators that they matter.”
Romou also used the opportunity to once again extend her sincere gratitude to all the businesses namely.
Obersi Xerox, Domino's Pizza Sint Maarten, Sal & Pepe, Pineapple Pete & Wasabi Charlie, KFC St.Maarten, Georgina's Nails, Polo Ralph Lauren, Armani, Beirut Sxm, Officeworldsxm Coffee lounge, Victors Cosmetics, T's Closet SXM, Ace Homecenter, Inglot, Addicted Hair Lounge, Lucky Shopping Center SXM, Shop and Take, Bold Buddha, Marks Place, Sparkle Hair Lounge, Beautylicious Beauty Supply, Divico Distributors and Cash & Carry, Dollar Smart, Natural Heath store, The Sugar Mill Cafe, Overstocks & Simpson Bay Resort Marina & Spa who have partnered with this year’s Loving Our Teachers Out Loud initiative by providing discounts, complimentary items and services, and other exclusive offers for teachers.
“To every business that said yes when asked to give something back to our teachers, I say a heartfelt thank you. Some of you have supported this initiative year after year, and your continued generosity is what makes it possible.
You have demonstrated that Teacher Appreciation is not simply something we talk about; it is something we can put into action as a community.”
Romou emphasized that teachers give an immeasurable amount of themselves to the children entrusted to their care.
“Teachers educate, nurture, encourage, guide, correct, motivate, and inspire. Every profession begins somewhere in a classroom, with a teacher who helped someone learn, discover a talent, overcome a challenge, or believe that they could become something more.
Our teachers deserve to know that the work they do is important and that their dedication does not go unnoticed.
As teachers continue enjoying their midterm break, Romou wishes each of them rest, relaxation, and rejuvenation, encouraging educators to take time to replenish themselves after continually pouring into others.
With the fifth anniversary being celebrated this year, Romou and A BETTA PLACE Foundation is already looking ahead to expanding Loving Our Teachers Out Loud in 2027.
Businesses that could not participate this year but would like to become part of the initiative next year are warmly invited to come on board. They can simply send a WhatsApp to +17215286006 or email abettaplacefoundation@gmail.com.
“My hope is that every year more of our business community will join us. Whether it is a discount, complimentary service, special experience or another meaningful gesture, every contribution says something important to our educators, “WE APPRECIATE YOU.”
Romou concluded by reiterating the message that has remained at the heart of the initiative throughout its five years:
“Teacher Appreciation should never be limited to one day or one month.
Our teachers deserve to be appreciated 365 days a year. To our teachers, thank you for continuing to pour into the lives of our children. And to every business that has partnered with us, thank you for helping us turn appreciation into action.
Together, let us continue “
Loving Our Teachers Out Loud”
