The anniversary branding will gradually be introduced across Winair's fleet, allowing passengers throughout the region to share in the celebration. As the specially branded aircraft travels across the airline's network, it will serve as a flying tribute to Winair's history and the Caribbean communities it has connected since 1961.

For 65 years, Winair has played an important role in linking Caribbean islands and supporting tourism, business, healthcare, education and family connections. From its beginnings as a small regional carrier, the airline has grown into one of the Caribbean's leading regional operators, serving an extensive network and maintaining partnerships with major international carriers.

As the national airline of St. Maarten, Winair has also contributed significantly to the economic development of the country and the wider Caribbean. The airline provides employment for hundreds of professionals, supports local businesses, strengthens tourism and delivers essential air connectivity that supports trade, investment and regional cooperation.

Winair said its role in connecting smaller Caribbean destinations remains important to the sustainable growth and resilience of the islands it serves.

"Seeing our first aircraft proudly carrying our 65th Anniversary branding is a very special moment for everyone at Winair," said Hans van de Velde, Chief Executive Officer of Winair. "This milestone represents far more than the passage of time. It reflects the dedication of generations of employees, the loyalty of our passengers, and the trust of our partners. We are equally proud of the role Winair has played in supporting the economic development of St. Maarten and our neighbouring islands. As we celebrate 65 years of connecting the Caribbean, we remain committed to investing in our future while continuing to deliver the reliable service our customers have come to expect."

The commemorative aircraft is one of several initiatives planned during Winair's anniversary year. Passengers can expect special campaigns, community activities, events and other celebrations recognizing the airline's contribution to Caribbean aviation over the past six and a half decades.

Winair said it is also looking ahead with confidence and will continue investing in its network, fleet, customer experience and innovative services aimed at making travel throughout the Caribbean more accessible and convenient.

The arrival of the first anniversary aircraft marks the official start of Winair's 65th anniversary celebrations, honouring the airline's history while reinforcing its commitment to the future of Caribbean connectivity.
