SINT MAARTEN (POND ISLAND) - The University of St. Martin (USM) proudly celebrates the achievements of several students in its English as a Second Language (ESL) Program who recently received certificates after successfully completing their respective English language levels.

The certificate presentation recognized the hard work, determination, and commitment demonstrated by students throughout the semester as they strengthened their English speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills. Each completed level represents an important milestone in their language-learning journey and brings students one step closer to achieving greater confidence in both their personal and professional lives.

Many of the students will continue their studies this September as they advance to the next level of the ESL Program, building on the knowledge and skills they have gained.

"The success of our students is a testament to their dedication and willingness to learn," said ESL Coordinator Corinne van Putten Lejuez. "We are proud of every student who completed a level this semester and look forward to welcoming many of them back as they continue progressing through the program."

USM's English as a Second Language Program is designed for adults whose first language is not English and who wish to improve their communication skills for everyday life, employment, or further education. The program offers a supportive learning environment where students develop practical language skills through interactive lessons led by experienced instructors.

Registration is now open for the Fall 2026 ESL Semester, with classes scheduled to begin on Monday, September 21, 2026, and conclude on Thursday, December 17, 2026.

The University of St. Martin encourages anyone interested in improving their English to apply for the upcoming semester. New students will complete a placement assessment to determine the appropriate class level, ensuring they receive instruction that matches their current language proficiency.

Whether your goal is to communicate more confidently at work, prepare for further studies, or navigate daily life more comfortably, USM's ESL Program provides the tools and support to help you succeed. Individuals interested in joining the Fall 2026 cohort are encouraged to register early and schedule their placement assessment.
