PHILIPSBURG--Social and Health Insurances SZV has launched "Dependable Hugs," a new initiative that will provide every SZV-insured newborn with a teddy bear and blanket package to mark the beginning of what the organisation describes as a lifelong relationship with its clients.

The initiative is open to all SZV-insured parents whose newborns were registered on or after January 1, 2026. SZV said retroactive distribution began in June, with gifts distributed after the newborn's registration has been completed and confirmed.

According to SZV, the initiative reflects its commitment to strengthening its relationship with clients by recognising important life milestones.

"We don't only meet our clients in times of need; we are also here to celebrate life's milestones with them. The birth of a child is one of the most joyful moments a family can experience, and SZV wants to be part of that joy. Because we are not just insurance, we are a partner for life. That is the spirit behind 'Dependable Hugs'," said Joseline Urighre, Communications & Change Management Officer.

Parents whose newborns qualify for the initiative will receive an email with instructions on how to collect the welcome package.

SZV said the initiative is part of its ongoing efforts to strengthen community engagement while serving the people of St. Maarten with compassion, reliability and care at every stage of life.

More information about SZV's services is available on the organisation's website.
