PHILIPSBURG: On August 27, the Department of Sports and Culture of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Youth and Sports of Sint Maarten in collaboration with Nagico Insurance organized the “Health, Sport, and Culture Expo” at the Raoul Illidge Sports Complex.

This first edition focused on health, sport, and culture which started at 7 am and ran until until 3:30 pm, was a great success. More than 1,000 people participated in the extracurricular activities dedicated to children and adults. About 50 sports, cultural, and health organizations were represented to present their program of activities, open registrations for them, and offer the public to participate in various demonstrations, including free screenings and tastings of healthy and balanced food.

Capoeira, yoga, salsa and Zumba classes, wellness check-ups, meditation, art & craft workshops, sports courses, basketball, baseball, boxing, ju-jitsu, soccer, volleyball, fitness and bodybuilding, stilt-walking, horseback riding, musical instruments, dancing, there was something for everyone, young and old, who greatly appreciated the first edition of this beautiful event.

The PM., Honorable Silveria Jacobs, Prime Minister of Sint Maarten, also participated in the obstacle course organized by the Sint Maarten Police (KPSM).
