“It is with great sadness that we learned this morning (yesterday morning, editor's note), of the sudden death of Mr. Bernard Locufier, paying treasurer of the Community, responsible for the Public Finance Center of Saint-Martin. We are very saddened by this sad news.
Since taking office in October 2021, Mr. Bernard Locufier has been very attentive to the tax issues encountered in the region and the desire of the Community to evolve in this area. He had notably served in Guyana and was sensitive and attached to overseas territories. Bernard Locufier demonstrated great professionalism and maintained constructive and lasting relationships with the services of the Collectivity of Saint-Martin, of which he was the paying treasurer. We will remember his commitment to Saint-Martin, his kindness and his discretion.
We send our most sincere condolences and our unwavering support to his family and loved ones, and have an affectionate thought for all the staff of the DGFIP, the Community of Saint-Martin and the State, who worked alongside him for 2 years and whose sadness we share today.
