After a notable preview on November 25, Chokehold, a film shot entirely in Saint-Martin and directed by Joel Ayuk, returns to screening at the Caribbean Cinemas in Sint Maarten this Saturday, December 30 at 20:30 p.m.

By tackling themes such as domestic violence in Chokehold, Joel Ayuk does more than present a gripping narrative, he elevates St. Maarten and Sint Maarten to living characters in his stories, bridging local experiences and universal themes . Chokehold tells the story of a police officer caught up in the demons of the past who fights to preserve his family, with a finesse and intelligence specific to Joel Ayuk. Filmed partly French and partly Dutch, Chokehold offers magnificent shots of many districts of the island, Nettlé Bay, Orient Bay, Sandy Ground, Anse Marcel, Philipsburg, Simpson Bay, the feature film speaks without taboo about domestic violence while paying tribute to the beauty of our island. Acclaimed by critics and praised by the public, the film Chokehold will once again be showing at Caribbean Cinemas in Sint Maarten this Saturday, December 30 at 20:30 p.m., with French subtitles. Chokehold promises to touch your heart… _VX
