On Tuesday, June 18, 6th SEGPA (Adapted General and Vocational Education Section) students from Collège Mont des Accords participated in a morning of cohesion on Galion beach, led by five gendarmes from the Sandy Ground brigade and of the Surveillance and Intervention Platoon and the Gendarmerie (PSIG), their teachers and an education assistant (AED) from the college.
\nThe objective of this morning was to create a link between these students with academic difficulties, because throughout the 6th year they are included in 4 reference classes, and are supported in SEGPA in French and mathematics in 2 distinct groups. Next year in 5th SEGPA, these students will be grouped into a single class, and this morning was necessary to facilitate their evolution into a single group next year.
\nDuring this fun morning, the gendarmes offered the students a team relay race (with no leaving the mat), a relay to fill a bucket of sea water with a sponge, races in the water, the game dodge ball, team tug of war. Aquatic ease games were also on the program.
\nA morning rich in experiences and emotion, during which team spirit and solidarity were in the spotlight. A time of exchange also between the gendarmes and the students, who perceived the action of the soldiers from a new angle. The badges offered by the gendarmes at the end of the morning were particularly appreciated.
\nMagali Jasaron, Deputy Director in charge of SEGPA at Collège Mont des Accords, takes the opportunity to thank Colonel Maxime Wintzer-Wehekind, the gendarmes of the Sandy Ground brigade and the PSIG for having devoted this time to the students, all delighted of this beautiful day spent with representatives of the police. _AF
