Philipsburg - The Ministry of VROMI confirms another fish die-off affecting the Great Salt Pond and has responded promptly to begin cleanup operations.
Following the report, the Ministry mobilized its teams to assess the situation and start the process of removing the affected fish from the Great Salt Pond. Cleanup efforts are currently ongoing, with crews working to address the affected areas and reduce the impact on the surrounding environment and community.
The Ministry’s timely response has allowed cleanup activities to begin as soon as the situation was reported. Given the extent of the die-off, additional efforts are being carried out to ensure that as much of the affected area as possible is addressed.
The public is encouraged to remain cautious around affected areas and to avoid fishing or handling any dead fish.
Residents in the surrounding area who experience strong odors are advised to keep windows closed where possible.
