As part of a press workshop conducted in French class by their teacher Ms. Geoffroy, the students of 4e1 CEES at Soualiga middle school produced an article to report the impressions of staff and students on life in their new school:
With our French teacher, we received a visit from a journalist from Faxinfo (*). She introduced us to the profession of journalism and taught us how to write a news article. To gain an even better understanding, we put ourselves in the shoes of journalists and asked the administration and students what they thought of the atmosphere at the new school.
A new school: a new dynamic
The deputy headteacher, Ms. Roquet, hopes the school will always remain clean, new, and welcoming. She sees the school as a place that commands respect and where students feel at ease. Ms. Souprayen, the student life coordinator for the sixth and seventh grades, confirms that the learning environment is gradually improving and that there is a desire to study.
According to Ms. Vaglio, the CPE (school life coordinator) for the eighth and ninth grades, the school's strengths are its air-conditioned classrooms and its "super large" courtyard. She adds that the school is distinguished by its exotic vegetation: "It feels like being in a tropical garden."
To continue our article, we went to meet some students. To the question "What do you like best about your new school and why?", one student replied: "I like the cafeteria, which I find spacious; it's a pleasant place to eat lunch, and the toilets are close to the study halls."
Another student noted that the gymnasium was larger but lacked ventilation and benches. She added that she preferred the music room. Overall, the students were very happy with their new school, which they found modern and refreshing thanks to its tropical garden atmosphere.
