The Lions Club Oualichi of Saint-Martin brought together 32 participants for its belote tournament held last month at the Daniella Jeffry vocational high school. The evening was marked by a friendly atmosphere, and the proceeds will help fund the club's upcoming charitable activities.
President Laure Le Curieux-Lebon praised the participation of the players, the partners who donated prizes, and the school administration, which made its facilities available for the event. “The participants contributed to the success of this initiative and helped us raise funds for our future Lions activities,” she emphasized.
The club reminds everyone that, lacking subsidies, its operations rely primarily on funds raised during its events. The proceeds from this tournament will notably support upcoming initiatives in the area, including monthly food assistance for Red Cross beneficiaries, diabetes prevention and screening programs, awards for deserving high school students, and several initiatives to support patients and staff at Marigot Hospital. _VX
