On November 4th and 5th, the CGSS is organizing two prevention events in Quartier d'Orléans and Concordia. The program includes information, support, and screenings for breast, cervical, and colorectal cancers.

Reaching out to residents and facilitating access to testing: this is the objective of the two free appointments offered by the General Social Security Fund (CGSS) and its partners. The first will be held on Wednesday, November 4, from 8 a.m. to 14 p.m., at the House of Solidarity and Families of Quartier d'Orléans (11 Coralita Street). The second will take place on Thursday, November 5, also from 8 a.m. to 14 p.m., at the SMEs (Maternal and Child Protection) of Concordia, located at 10 Mont Carmel Street.

The approach aims to bringing prevention measures closer to residentswhile participation in screenings remains insufficient. Geographical distance, social difficulties, or limited access to healthcare professionals can delay these steps. Healthcare professionals will be mobilized to inform and support the public. The frottis et HPV tests can be carried out on site. Visitors will also be able to obtain a colorectal cancer screening kit, to be oriented towards a mammography with an approved radiologist and benefit from blood glucose tests and blood pressure measurements.

Three cancers involved

These free services are aimed at women aged 50 to 74 for the breast cancer screening, to women aged 25 to 65 for that of the cervix, as well as to women and men aged 50 to 74 for the colorectal cancerOver these two days, the CGSS intends remove geographical and social barriers which further discourage certain groups from prevention programs and encourage greater participation in exams. Take care of yourself, get tested. _VX
