This weekend of November 7 and 8, the Mullet Bay golf course will host the 22nd edition of the Concordia Cup, a competition that pits the teams of Saint-Martin and Sint Maarten against each other every year, on the occasion of the Saint-Martin festival on November 11.
A true local “Ryder Cup”, this friendly but always very competitive event is played in match play, by teams and individually. After seven consecutive victories for Saint-Martin, with Sint Maarten's last victory dating back to 2018, the players on the French side will try to retain their trophy for the eighth consecutive year.In the rankings of the previous 21 editions, Saint-Martin holds a narrow lead with 11 victories compared to 10 for Sint Maarten. The stakes are therefore high for both teams!
Saturday will be dedicated to doubles matches.
Starting at 8 a.m., the players will tee off in a shotgun start on the fairways of Mullet Bay for a first series of 9 holes in a "foursome" format. The two partners alternately play the same ball until the end of each hole.
Next up is the "four-ball" round over 9 additional holes. Each player plays their own ball, and only the best score of the two partners is counted on each hole. Each match won earns one point for the winning team.
Sunday will feature singles matches to decide the winner between the two sides.
On Sunday morning, starting at 8 a.m., the players will compete in individual match play over 18 holes. These matches, often decisive, will determine the winner of this 22nd edition.
At the end of the competition, participants will gather for a friendly lunch in the shade of the large ficus tree at Mullet Bay, after the announcement of the results and the presentation of the Jason Nyuiadzi trophy.
Beyond the sporting competition, the Concordia Cup remains above all a beautiful moment of conviviality and friendship between the two parts of the island, in the spirit of the Treaty of Concordia.
The results of this 2026 edition will be published in Faxinfo.
