The young cyclists of theMarigot Sports Association (ASM) shone during the Guadeloupe U17 Cycling Tour, held from July 8th to 12th. Participating in an agreement with the Karénaj Cycling Club (KCU), Alfred Artsen, Junisio Brooks Lake and Lance Hunt Parotte proudly represented Saint-Martin throughout the five stages.
The best performance went to Lance Hunt Parotte, winner of the fourth stageconsidered the most demanding stage of the race, with a summit finish on the climb from Saint-Louis to Baillif. The young runner also wore the white jersey for best young player during the second stage and the green jersey of the points classification during the fifthHe finished second in the mountains classification and fourth in the points classification.
Alfred Artsen also distinguished himself by winning the fifth and final stage At the end of an aggressive race, he set off in pursuit of the leader, who had a 1 minute 20 second advantage, and managed to catch him before winning the sprint. This victory allows him to finish the Tour in sixth place overall. Consistent throughout the competition, Junisio Brooks Lake, for his part, contributed to the team's strength by constantly staying with the best.
