The results of this first round of the early legislative elections of June 29, 2024 communicated yesterday around 14 p.m. by the prefecture of Saint-Martin and Saint-Barthélemy announce a second round between the outgoing deputy Frantz Gumbs and the Saint-Barth Alexandra Questel.
With 25.227 registered on the electoral lists of the Northern Islands, only 5.099 voters cast their ballots in Saint-Martin, i.e. 25,53% participation rate compared to 40,84% in Saint-Barthélemy, for a total of 7.232 voters. In the SXM – SBH constituency, there were 17.995 abstentions (71,33%), 214 blank votes (2,96%) and 99 invalid votes (1,37%). At the end of the counting, two candidates out of the eight qualify for the second round which will take place this Saturday, July 6 in Saint-Martin and Saint-Barthélemy: Frantz Gumbs (41,44% – 2.867 votes) and Alexandra Questel (19,92 % – 1.378 votes). Philippe Philidor comes in third position with 1.170 votes (16,91%), followed by Clément Chapdelaine (680 votes – 9,83%), Ricardo Bethel (399 votes – 5,77%), Hervé Meunier (230 votes – 3,32, 102%), Lila Krimi (1,47 votes – 93%) and Diane Félix (1,34 votes – 6%). National results: the RN in the lead
\nAccording to the final results from the Ministry of the Interior, the National Rally came first in the first round of the legislative elections on Sunday June 1, 30 with 2024% of the votes, of which 33,15 deputies are already elected.
\nThe big winner of this national election, the flame party collected 29,23% and 3,90% for the candidates of the alliance between LR Eric Ciotti and the RN, which is equivalent to 10,6 million voters. The union of the left (New Popular Front) came in second position with 27,99% of the votes cast. The presidential majority is satisfied with third place with 20,04%. Far behind, Les Républicains who collected only 6,56% and Reconquête!, the party of Eric Zemmour, with 0,76%. At the Élysée, the President of the Republic Emmanuel Macron declared to his ministers: “We must not make a mistake. It’s the far right that is on the verge of accessing the highest offices, no one else.”
