Vicepremier Israël weg na beschuldigingen

ISRAËL – De Israëlische vicepremier en minister van Binnenlandse Zaken, Silvan Shalom, is zondag opgestapt na beschuldigingen dat hij op zijn werk herhaaldelijk vrouwen heeft lastiggevallen. De 57-jarige politicus van de rechtse partij Likud, zegt dat hij onschuldig is. Hij vindt volgens Israëlische media dat de aantijgingen die al jaren worden gedaan, hem te veel beschadigen in zijn functie en in zijn privéleven om nog langer aan te blijven. Verscheidene ex-medewerksters van Shalom hebben over hem geklaagd. Het Openbaar Ministerie heeft een onderzoek aangekondigd. (NU/foto: volkskrant.nl)…[+]
