Doodvonnissen in Koeweit wegens spionage Iran

KOEWEIT – Twee mannen die in Koeweit schuldig zijn bevonden aan verboden wapenbezit en spionage voor Iran hebben dinsdag de doodstraf gekregen. Eén van de mannen is een Iraniër die bij verstek is veroordeeld.De doodvonnissen komen tegen de achtergrond oplopende spanningen tussen de door soennitische families geregeerde Golfstaten en het sjiitische Iran. Koeweit heeft een grote sjiitische minderheid die naar schatting 40 procent van de Koeweiti’s vormt.(Telegraaf)…[+]
