PHILIPSBURG, St. Maarten – Just minutes before 9pm Tuesday night, the police got a call that a man was shot in the district of Middle Region.

After responding the body of a lifeless man was discovered lying on the ground in the vicinity of Gumbs Drive in Middle Region. It is said that the victim may be the owner of a small shop close by.

The death of the male victim was confirmed by the Police Spokesman Inspector Ricardo Henson who also confirmed that the case is now receiving a full investigation.

www.sxmislandtime.com later learnt that the dead man is Roberto Gumbs who is well known to law enforcement as at one point in his life he was incarcerated. He also lost a hand due to past activities.

Chief Inspector Ricardo Henson did not confirm if there are any leads at this time which could lead to the apprehension of the person or persons responsible for this latest violent criminal act.
