P O L I C E   P R E S S   R E L E A S E

In connection with the upcoming junior carnival parade Scheduled for the Second Day parade May 2nd and the Closing Jump-Up May 3rd the Police Department is announcing the following road closures

Second Day Carnival Parade May 2nd

The parade will start at 12.00 p.m. on the Soualiga Boulevard in front of the Festival Village.

The route is as follows:

Soualiga road/ Salt Pickers round about/ Walter Nisbet road/ Percy Labega Street/ Longwall road/ Kerkhofsteeg/ Front Street/ Emmaplein/ Welvaart brug/ Freedom Fighter round about/ Walter Nisbet road/ Salt Picker round about/ Soualiga road and ending in front of the Festival Village.

At 11.20 a.m.:

*A.Th. Illidge road and Longwall road closed at Prins Bernard Brug. No traffic allowed in the direction of the Walter Nisbet road.

*Walter Nisbet road closed at the Percy Labega Street. No traffic allowed in the direction of the Prins Bernard Bridge.

At 12.00 p.m.:

*Longwall road closed at Percy Labega Street. No traffic allow in the direction of Kerkhofsteeg.

*Cannegieter street closed at Manzanilla steeg. No traffic allowed in the direction of Percy Labega Street.

*Little Bay road closed at Fort Willem road. No traffic allowed in the direction of Kerkhof steeg and Front Street.

*Back street closed at Manzanilla Steeg. No traffic allowed in the direction of Kerkhof steeg.

At 04.00 p.m.:

*Juancho Yrausquin Boulevard closed at Welvaart brug. No traffic allowed in the direction of Buncamper road.

*Buncamper road closed at Freedom Fighter round about. No traffic allowed in the direction of Juancho Yrausquin Boulevard.

At 04.20 p.m.:

*Suckergarden road closed at Freedom Fiighter round about. No traffic in the direction of the Walter Nisbet road.

*Walter Nisbet road closed at Salt Picker round about. No traffic allowed in the direction of Freedom Fighter round about.

*Soualiga Boulevrad closed at Rock Slat drive. No traffic allowed in the direction of Salt Picker round about.

*Peterson Street closed at Salt Pickers Round about. No traffic allowed in the direction of the Salt Pickers round about.

* Walter Nisbet road closed at Codville Webster road. No traffic in the direction of Salt Pickers round about.

All streets and roads will reopen to traffic when the parade has reached its final destination.

Closing Jump Up May 3rd 2016

The Jump up will start at 08.00 p.m. on the Welgelegen road.

The route is as follows:

Welgelegen road/ A.J.C. Brouwers road/ Church Hill round about/ Bush road/ Prins Bernard Bridge/ Walter Nisbet road/ Salt Picker round about/ Soualiga Boulevard in front of the Festival Village.

At 07.00 p.m:

*Welgelegen road closed at A.J.C. Brouwers road. No traffic allowed in the direction of the Welgelegen road.

*Welgelegen road closed at Puma road. No traffic allowed in the direction of A.J.C. Brouwers road.

* A.J.C. Brouwers road closed ant Panther road. No traffic allowed in the direction of Church Hill round about.

*A.J.C. Brouwers road closed at Church Hill round about. No traffic allowed in the direction of A.J.C Brouwers road.

At 07.30 p.m.:

*L.B. Scot road closed at Church Hill round about. No traffic allowed in the direction of Church Hill round about.

*Zagersgut road closed at Bush road. No traffic allowed in the direction of Bush road.

At 08.00 p.m.:

*Bush road closed at Prins Bernard Bridge. No traffic allowed in the direction of Church Hill round about.

*Walter Nisbet road closed at Percy Labega Steet. No traffic allowed in the direction of Prins Bernard Bridge.

* Manzanilla steeg closed at Walter Nisbet road. No traffic allowed in the direction of Walter Nisbet road.

At 09.30 p.m.:

Tamarinde steeg closed at Walter Nisbet road. No traffic allowed in the direction of Walter Nisbet road.

At 10.00 p.m.:

  1. Richardson street closed at Wlater Nisbet road. No traffic allowed in the direction of the walter Nisbet road.

At 10.30 p.m.:

*Walter Nisbet road closed at Hensey Boujon Street. No traffic allowed in the direction of Prins Bernard Bridge.

*Walter Nisbet road closed at Salt Pickers round about. No traffic allowed in the direction of the Walter Nisbet road.

*Peterson street closed at Salt Picker round about. No traffic allowed in the direction of Salt Picker round about.

*Soualiga Boulevard closed at Rock salt drive. No traffic allowed in the direction of Salt Picker round about.

Traffic will be opened once the jump up has reached its final destination.
