Police arrest and charge 68 year old for theft

ANGUILLA — The Royal Anguilla Police Force on Saturday 2^nd January arrested and charged a 68 year old female from North Hill for Theft.

The offender was arrested as a result of an investigation into a report of a stolen bicycle made to the police on the said date.  The investigation into the report revealed that the offender visited the property of the complainant on Monday 28^th December, 2015 around 11:30 am and later left with the bicycle valued at US $500.00.

On arrest the offender took to police to her home where she handed over the said bicycle to them.

When the offender appeared before the Magistrate’s Court on Monday 4^th January, 2016 she pled guilty to the offence of theft and was fined EC $2, 000.00 to be paid by the 4^th January, 2016 or spend 2 months in prison.

She was also ordered by the court to compensate the owner of the bicycle for the said bicycle.
