PHILIPSBURG, Sint Maarten – The Permanent Committee of Kingdom Affairs and Inter-parliamentary Relations (CKAIR) will meet on December 9th.

The CKAIR Committee meeting is scheduled for Wednesday at 2.00pm in the General Assembly Chamber of the House at Wilhelmina Straat #1 in Philipsburg.

The first agenda point is: approval of the decision list Parliamentary Year 2015-2016, no 4; the second agenda point is a discussion with the relevant Ministers on several agenda points in preparation for the Inter-parliamentary Kingdom Consultation (IPKO) 2016 January 5-8.

The points to be discussed with the Ministers are: Small Island Developing States (SIDS); Nationality issues due to administrative errors; Motion adopted by Parliament concerning traveling with ID/Sedula/Cedula between the Caribbean islands of the Kingdom; Motion adopted by Parliament concerning a Legislation Academy; and state of affairs regarding Dienst Uitvoering Onderwijs (DUO) of the Dutch Ministry of Education, Culture and Science.

The Minister of Education, Culture, Youth and Sports will be present for the sitting of the House.

Members of the public are invited to the House of Parliament to attend parliamentary deliberations.

The House of Parliament is located across from the Court House in Philipsburg.

The parliamentary session will be carried live on St. Maarten Cable TV Channel 120, via Pearl Radio FM 98.1, the audio via the Internet www.pearlfmradio.com and viawww.sxmparliament.org.
