GREAT BAY – The solicitor-general demanded 24 months of imprisonment against USp-MP Silvio Matser on Tuesday during the handling of the appeal against Matser’s 2015 conviction.

The solicitor –general demanded confirmation of  the earlier verdict. In 2015 the Court in First Instance sentenced Matser to 24 months, with 18 months suspended and 240 hours of community service. His construction company Energizer was sentenced to pay 4.5 million guilders in back taxes.

The Common Court of Justice will pronounce its verdict on January 12, 2017.
