GRAND CASE, Saint Martin – The Dutch side Prosecutor has requested legal help from the French Authorities to confiscate some heavy equipment from a French National. The Asset Recovery Team from Dutch St. Maarten has the suspect under allegations of money laundering.

On Tuesday morning around 5:45 AM, the French and Dutch side law enforcement raided a property located on Rue de Millrum in Grand Case French St. Martin, where the French on request of the Dutch side Prosecutor’s office seized a large number of heavy equipment from the mentioned location.

No additional information was provided such as if there were any arrests or if other locations were searched, as this investigation is still in progress.  As soon as 721 News receives additional information, we will update you accordingly.

The Asset Recovery Team Sint Maarten is a collaboration between the St. Maarten Police Force (KPSM), the St. Maarten Tax Authority, Customs, the Caribbean Coast Guard, and the Public Prosecutor’s Office St. Maarten. The Asset Recovery Team was founded on the basis that crime should not pay. Proceeds seized by the Asset Recovery Team will benefit Country St. Maarten.
