16 year old remanded for burglary

The Royal Anguilla Police Force on Wednesday 16th December, 2015 at 11:50pm arrested a 16 year old teenager for burglary and charged him with the same offence on Thursday 17th December, 2015.

The arrest of the teenager comes as a result of investigations by the RAPF into a spate of recent burglaries in the North Side/Cedar Village area.

The alleged offender who appeared before the Magistrate’s Court today Friday 18th December, 2015 was remanded to HMP until Tuesday 29th December, 2015 when he is due back in the court.

Police Week 2016 in advance planning stage

Chairperson of the Royal Anguilla Police Force Police Week Committee, Insp. Marva Brooks says that plans are well on the way for the hosting of the 44th Police Week and Anniversary of the RAPF.

The week which will be celebrated under the theme “Working with you, Working for you, Anguilla Community we are committed to you” will be celebrated from 24th – 30th January, 2016.

“The planning committee has been meeting since September,” says Insp. Brooks.  “Many of the activities for the week have already been formalized and we are just putting the finishing touches on them.”

“We will be having the usual activities for the week but this year we will also be engaged in a community related project that involves assisting a member of the community with the completion of her home,” said Insp. Brooks.

The week which runs from Sunday 24th to Saturday 30th January begins with the final of the Annual Commissioner of Police Domino Competition on Sunday wrapping up with the Anniversary Dinner and Dance on Saturday 30th January, 2016 at Cuisinart Resort Golf Course.

The other activities for the week include Cooperate Worship, Spelling Bee, Gospel Concert, Basketball Competition, Pool Competition, Senior Citizens Luncheon, Walk-a-size, Kiddies Jamboree and the ever popular Bingo Competition.

During the week there will also be the annual vehicle raffle.  This year the vehicle that is up for grabs is the 2016 Audi Q5.
